This Weekend's Waffle: Chocolate Chip Waffle topped with Peanut Butter Whipped Cream...You know you want it...
The Chocolate Decadence Cake (Gluten-Free)
Yields: One 10" Round Cake
- 1/2 cup Water
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 1/2 lbs. Bittersweet Chocolate
- 1 cup Salted Butter
- 6 Eggs
- 10" Round of Parchment Paper
1) Melt chocolate in a double broiler.
2) Combine the water and sugar; boil mixture until clear
3) Pour the hot syrup into the chocolate and beat until the mixture comes together.
4) Whisk the butter into the hot chocolate mixture.
5) Beat the eggs well (don't over aerate the eggs) and fold into the chocolate mixture.
6) Spray parchment paper with non-stick spray.
7) Place pan in water bath in a 350 degree oven for approximately 40 minutes.
The cake is done when the surface looks dull and is firm when you press lightly in the center. Make sure to let it stand at room temperature until cool, then refrigerate. The cake will firm up when chilled. Run a sharp knife around the edge of the cake and place on a serving dish, then flip over. Top with berries or chocolate sauce and enjoy!

The Waldorf Salad: The salad was first created between 1893 and 1896 at the Waldorf Hotel in New York City (the precursor of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, which came into being with the merger of the Waldorf with the adjacent Astoria Hotel, opened in 1897).Oscar Tschirky, who was the Waldorf's maître d'hôtel and developed or inspired many of its signature dishes, is widely credited with creating the recipe. In 1896, Waldorf Salad appeared in The Cook Book by "Oscar of the Waldorf"; the original recipe did not contain nuts, but they had been added by the time the recipe appeared in The Rector Cook Book in 1928. March Cocktail of the Month: Berry Whiskey Smash!2oz Bulleit Bourbon
1 Lemon Wedge
1/2 oz simple syrup
RaspberriesMuddle 2 raspberries, 2 blackberries, lemon wedge, and simple syrup. Add ice and bourbon. Shake and strain into glass filled with ice.
